FAQ

1. What is DTF printing?

DTF (Direct-to-Film) printing is a modern printing process that allows you to transfer vibrant, full-color designs onto almost any fabric — cotton, polyester, blends, nylon, and more. Instead of printing directly onto the shirt, the design is first printed onto a special film using high-quality inks and adhesive powder. Then it’s heat-pressed onto the garment.
This gives your prints a smooth, durable finish that won’t crack, peel, or fade after washing. It’s the go-to option for apparel brands, small businesses, and creators who want professional quality with no minimum order limits.

2. What is a Gang Sheet and why should I use one?

A gang sheet is a large film sheet that holds multiple designs in one print area. Instead of printing each logo or image separately, you can fill a single sheet (for example 22”×24” or 22”×60”) with all your graphics — saving both time and money.
If you run a clothing brand or sell multiple designs, gang sheets are perfect for organizing your work, reducing waste, and getting the best price per square inch.

3. What file format should I upload?

For best results, upload your artwork in PNG format, 300 DPI resolution, with a transparent background.

  • PNG preserves clean edges and vibrant color.

  • Avoid JPG, HEIC, or screenshot files — they often contain unwanted backgrounds or compression artifacts.
If your file isn’t ready, don’t worry — our team can review it before printing to make sure it looks perfect on film.

4. What’s the difference between DTF and UV DTF?

Both methods use film transfers, but they serve different purposes:

  • DTF Transfers are made for fabric (shirts, hoodies, hats, tote bags). They require a heat press to transfer your design.

  • UV DTF Transfers are for hard, non-porous surfaces like tumblers, bottles, packaging, or glass. These are peel-and-stick, no heat press needed, waterproof, and extremely durable.
At Always DTF, we offer both — so you can decorate everything from T-shirts to drinkware under one roof.

5. How long does it take to get my order?

Our turnaround time (TAT) is typically 1–3 business days after we receive your print-ready artwork.
We print everything in-house at our Dallas, TX facility, so you can expect fast and consistent service. Expedited shipping and local pickup options are also available if you’re in a hurry.

6. What are the heat press instructions for DTF transfers?

Follow these simple steps for perfect results:

  1. Pre-press the garment for 5 seconds to remove moisture.

  2. Place the transfer film face down.

  3. Press at 300–320°F for 10–15 seconds with medium pressure.

  4. Let it cool for 5–10 seconds, then peel slowly (warm or cold peel).

  5. Re-press for 5–8 seconds to lock in color and smooth the finish.
✅ Done — your design is soft, vibrant, and wash-proof!
